PARADIGM

X

In 2003, Lady X led a planetwide search for a series of mysterious artifacts, from Istanbul to Helsingborg, from Tokyo to New York City. She is an agent of X-Directorate, a shadowy intelligence agency that investigates paranormal threats and protects the free world from those who would use the occult to gain unnatural power.

Immediately after retrieving the final lost artifact off the coast of Australia, the globe-trotting spy mysteriously disappears, and burnt-out former agent Hank Barnes is lured back into action with the promise of personal revenge. His old nemesis the Baron, a master criminal long considered dead, has recently reappeared and is suspected of masterminding the abduction of Lady X and the theft of the microchip that is the final piece of the puzzle it has taken years to build.

Now Barnes must put together a team of operatives to retrieve the lost microchip, but the new operatives soon find themselves caught in between a madman bent on world domination and an embittered agent bent on revenge.

The Characters

Hank Barnes

Played by Dean Karalekas

A former agent of X-Directorate, Hank Barnes was drummed out of the service for taking matters into his own hands in an unauthorized mission with disastrous results. Today, he is forced to eke out a living as a bounty hunter in Central America. Though he was once an excellent operational tactician, his judgment has been clouded by his inability to deal with his past failures.

Baron Gustav von Frohlich

Played by Rowan Hunter

Deprived of his birthright and growing up in poverty in a Bavarian orphanage, Frohlich vowed to dedicate his genius to acquiring power and riches. This master criminal was killed six years ago by Hank Barnes. Or so the world thought. Now, he has re-emerged to pose a threat to the planet and is intent on gaining access to a source of unbelievable power.

Milo Caprese

Played by Maurice Harrington

A low-level bureaucrat in X-Directorate’s accounting department, Caprese gets swept up in events beyond his control and struggles to find his way in the unfamiliar world of field operations, where courage is just as important as knowledge.

Calvin “DeFrag” Brown

Played by Joshua Ward

An expert hacker and former agent, Brown was dismissed from the service after his first mission because of his loyalty to Barnes. Today, he languishes in a Burmese jail cell, a prisoner of the military junta. Despite his extensive expertise with electronics and computers, he is always "backstage" for operations and shies away from any real responsibility.

Andrea Crane

Played by April Langerak

A career cat burglar, Crane is an outsider to the world of government espionage and unaware of the paranormal forces that threaten the world. Her stealth and agility make her a desirable asset to the team, but she is essentially a lone wolf and desires to stay that way.

John Lu

Played by Azuma Windwalker

A member of the Taiwanese police force, Lu is keen to live up to the reputation of his deceased father, who was Barnes’ professional colleague and friend. He thinks that his energy and enthusiasm are enough to offset his inexperience.

Bill Eatherly

Played by Gary O’Connor

Once Barnes’ trusted sergeant, Eatherly was wounded in the rogue mission that nearly wiped out Barnes’ team. Today he exists on the fringes of the intelligence game in the Middle East.

"Number Two"

Played by Brian Lynch

The chief executive of the shadowy organization called X-Directorate is known only by his official designation. While at his previous rank of Number Six, The current Number Two was responsible for firing Hank Barnes. Now, he is calling him back into service. But why?

Harold Burger

Played by Sandy Murray

A former SAS operative, Burger is now a gun for hire whose services are often employed by the Baron. This expert soldier and marksman is a formidable foe not to be underestimated.

General Song Guoxiong

Played by Alexander Chou

A high-level officer of China's People’s Liberation Army, General Song has dedicated the considerable financial resources of the PLA toward bankrolling the Baron’s master plan. Despite their common cause, however, these two villains distrust each other.

Colonel Derwin Cunningham Blunt

Played by Peter Balfry

Recruited from the Royal Army, the head of X-Directorate’s internal security services, Colonel Blunt, is known for his harshly efficient methods and strict discipline.

Doctor Lalo Nagy

Played by Norman Szabo

The chief researcher responsible for the Gozen project, Doctor Nagy is totally dedicated to science and his task of reassembling the mysterious Gozen Engine, to understand what the device does, no matter whether or not he or his colleages can control its power.

Inga Shoenbrun

Played by Sarah Tarbox

The Baron’s trusted aide de camp, Inga is totally dedicated to the success of her boss’s evil schemes.

Norman Gaffey

Played by Norm Peltier

Head of a North American crime syndicate based in Detroit, Michigan, Gaffey has thrown his lot in with the Baron in a bid to share in absolute power.

Lieutenant Xiang Ping

Played by Jane Ko

The General’s bodyguard, Lieutenant Xiang is a stone-cold killer, as deadly as she is beautiful. In the art of death, she always has a few tricks up her sleeve.

Doctor Krasny Margosian

Played by Jacques Van Wersch

Margosian is totally dedicated to pure scientific and biological research. Unfortunately, nobody will bankroll, or even countenance, the unethical nature of his studies of human pain tolerances. Nobody, that is, except the Baron.

“Lady X”

Played by Dolly Deng

The central figure of this escapade, the mysterious “Lady X” is captured immediately after personally retrieving the final item. But her motives remain shrouded in obscurity – is she working for X-Directorate, or has she gone over to the other side?
