Cuba

I've been to Cuba twice, once in early 2018 and again at the end of 2019. The first time was a more positive experience, as the island was benefitting from recent lifting of some restrictions on travel by the U.S. By the end of 2019, however, the U.S. began renewing the old restrictions and implementing new ones, and the mood was distinctly different. I stayed mostly in Havana, only venturing occasionally to other parts of Cuba, but I found it to be an impressive country in many ways, particularly the resilience of its people.
